Dialogue!!!

Job Half Done

It has been almost three days now. Editing templates is not an easy job, even for a Software Engineer. There are still lots of changes left to be applied and tested. For these days I have used Google Chrome extensively. I have boycotted this browser until its 2.0 version was released. Now it feels like a super express when it comes to speed. I have also used Paint .NET for editing images. It is a free image editor I have been using as an alternative to Adobe Photoshop. And finally to edit the HTML and CSS I used NotePad++. Nice editor with ability to view the same file in two tabs at the same time. I really needed this functionality. Finally I must thank the creator of this theme. Even though I have not used his theme extensively, the first credit goes to the initial creator.

Blogger template

I have decided to slightly modify my blogger template. I am going to use this template as a reference. I was always bad in HTML and CSS. Its “true” test of my reverse engineering skills ;) Let’s see it works out. Update: Just realized that Google Chrome has firebug (or something of that sort) installed by default!!!

NITIE Meet

Last Sunday we had our NITIE meet. All the Mumbai people were invited by the Impact team of NITIE at the NITIE campus. Last time I went to NITIE it took me around 2 hours to reach. So this time I left my home at 3 thinking that it would take me 5 o’clock to reach the spot. It turned out that I boarded the train and bus at the correct time and reached there at 4:30pm, half an hour before the stipulated time. I called up Adiya Narayanan’s (my senior). He asked me to come to the Pond which is in the middle of NITIE, but since I had reached there, he asked me to come to his Hostel. After I went to his room, 2-3 more guys from my batch came. Each of introduced ourselves to others. It was nice to see some more people from VJTI. After the number people grew more than the room’s capacity (!!), we went to the central pond. Slowly more people started coming, and till 5:30pm we were around 15 people. The seniors gave us some information about the placements, summers, etc. They told us about t

IPL

Its IPL final today!!!! Its been a rollicking series of matches. Due to security reasons the IPL was shifted out of India to South Africa. It has been great to see an even contest between bat and ball. Apart from Delhi and to an extent Chennai’s Batting, none of the teams have been able to perform consistently. Correction, I think I should say perform consistently well, because KKR have been consistent in losing and playing mediocre cricket. Today I want to discuss the each and every team with it’s progress. After all, that is what every Indian is good at, criticizing it’s cricketers. KKR: Undoubtedly the worst team of the year. As I said, they were unbelievably consistent in losing the matches from winning positions. Whether is was against RR where they had 5 wickets in hand with 7 to get from 8 with Ganguly at his best or gifting Taylor low full tosses for hitting sixes or giving 26 runs in the final over against Deccan. The only positive thing was the batting of Hodge who with his

Picnic – Harihareshwar

This is the last one in the series. Earlier two parts are 1 and 2 . I guess I have started forgetting what had happened in that picnic. Let me think again. Hmmm.. As I said earlier we went back to the beach. Aditya, Rishi and I decided to play cricket. Rest, except Aniruddha (I would call him Battu Nana from now onwards), were enjoying the sea. After almost half an hour, we started with our “photo” sessions with my photo obsessive dear friend Jeetu taking the lead. Last time we had taken a photo where everyone in the frame was jumping the in the air and we had caught that moment of being in air in the frame. But this time we hardly succeeded in synchronizing the jumps. As last time I wasnt in the jumper’s list, and was busy taking photos. Only Battu, Rishi and I were the three person not diving in the water. During one of the jumps, Kiran told me to shoot in Video mode, because they were going to pull Rishi in water. It is one of the hilarious videos I have ever recorded in my life.

सचिन खेडेकर is at his his best!!!

Coincidnece

It is amazing how coincidences happen in our life. There have been a lot coincidences in my life, some of which are such that I am still amazed at their occurrences. Two such incidences happened recently, well, actually almost a month ago. First one. After my CAT result was declared, I had not met my school friends for almost 15 days. Unfortunately, our picnic on 25-26th Jan got cancelled. But since most of us were free on 25th, I decided to meet them at our usual place opposite Wilson Gymkhana. I asked Susmit who was going to come from his office. Aditya could not come as he was having some work. Nik said “hmm” when I asked him if he was going to come. Finally, just after I left, I called up Viraj, he was going to Lalbaug and told me that he will be back by 6:30. I reached the spot before 6. As expected(!!) no one from my friends were present. I called up Nik, he said he never said that he was going to come!! Susmit was on his way from office to home and it would have taken him half

25/4/2009

Today I went to HDFC branch to change my address for correspondence, then went to Susmit’s home and registered for my brother’s friend, Amit. Thanks to Susmit both, my brother and his friend, could register via his Credit Card. I have started reading “Kite Runner”, recommended by Jeetu. I hope its a good book. I then went to Aditya’s home at 5.30pm, but Aditya himself was not at home. He was having his classes at Velingkar. Actually, I never told him that we would meet at his home before going for dinner. Sunil came afterwards at 6 but then he had to leave early to some other place. Viraj was late and reached at 6.30pm. Aditya was last to come. Meanwhile we watched Mumbai Indians vs Deccan Chargers. It was frustrating to see MI losing wickets regularly in the later half of the innings. After watching them lose the match we decided to leave. Kiran and Susmit had already arrived at “Katta”. We joined joined them soon and we had great laugh for the half an hour we spent there, thinking
