Maths 99

After a really long time, I am wearing the watch given by Prasanna Pandit to me. Its been five years since he gave me this watch, but I have worn it hardly 6-7 times. When I walking towards office, I just remembered one funny incident involving Prasanna and myself. I would like to share it with you all.
It was the day of HSC results. I had returned home, and was getting lots of congratulatory calls. At around 7 o clock, I got a more of such calls. The guy on the other side was talking in Marathi. Well, I thought he was one of my father's friends. He asked me my Maths mark which I told him to be 99. He congratulated me. Then he asked me my overall marks. I said, "570 out of 600". I was really not able to make out who the person was. So finally, I asked him that I didn't recognize his voice and wanted to know who he was. It was none other than Prasanna Sir.
He was wondering why I had not called him up when most of the other guys had told him their marks. I said sorry to him before he asked me my marks in physics and chemistry. When he asked me about my marks in Physics and Chemistry, I followed it up with two "100"s. He started laughing. He said," OK. so thats why you didnt tell me your marks. I was the culprit behind you not getting 300 in PCM" :)
I must say, he was really generous to us when it came to the prize distribution, he took all 98-99-100 from hsi class/test series to Central Peningsula and gave big feast. And of course the watch. Its been ten years since I bought a new watch. Keep getting new watchs from freinds, techers......

My favorite Dialogue : Vegeta's Respect

I wanted to publish this since long time, but always postponed it, waiting for the right time. Well actually it is not a dialogue, since only one person is speaking.  This dialogue is from my favorite Cartoon serial DragonballZ and is spoken by my favorite character Vegeta . The scene is in the climax of the serial, in one of the final episodes. To give you an idea why I like it, let me give you some idea about DragonballZ . The characters Goku and Vegeta are one of the most important characters in the series. Goku, the protagonist, who is actually an alien from a planet called Vegeta and is one of the last of his race Saiyan . But unlike the Saiyans who are naturally aggressive, fight-loving, brutal, strongest warriors in the world, he is very calm, naive. He hates to be a Saiyan, when he realizes that he belongs to such a killing race. According to his blood line and roots on planet Vegeta, he is a third grade soldier in the Saiyan Army. On the contrary, Vegeta is the Prince o...

Natrang

I seriously don’t remember the last time I watched a Marathi movie in a theater, so according to my memory this was the first time I saw a Marathi Movie in a theater. And where?? The center point of recent controversy, Bharatmata, whose owners have been asked by NTC to vacate the place. Well, I will discuss that point in another post. Now, let us talk about the movie. I must admit it was a pleasure to watch Natrang in Bharatmata. The theater is located in central Mumbai near Lalbaug, which was dominated by Marathi mill workers in the yesteryears. Viraj had gone to PVR Lower Parel to buy the tickets. But since it would have cost us Rs. 150 each, I felt that it was too costly and asked Viraj to watch the movie in some other theater or on some other day. Since, Bharatmata was the nearest theater he decided to go there. I also left from home to join him. When I went there, there was a huge line for ticket. I didn’t tell Viraj but I had just 30 bucks in my wallet at that time, but what y...
