My Wish List

So what would I like to get as a Birthday gift. If you are going to give me a gift, let me make your job simpler ;)

  • There are 2 things I liked the most in childhood but was only able to “enjoy” both at the end of last year. I am talking about Goggles and Jackets. In most of childhood pics, you would find me with Goggles or Jacket. I really didn’t get too many chances of wearing them in school/college life. I broke my maiden Goggles during my first Pratibimb. After that it was only in 2008 that my dad asked me to buy another one. Now, I have 2 if you include my brother’s Goggles, but I still have space for another colorful one, especially the one in "The Hangover” ;)
  • Books. Well, I would not call myself a good reader. But I always felt the need to read good books either for pure entertainment or to improve my intellectual prowess. This is an area where I feel that I lag behind everyone. I know there are thousands of books out there which I should read, but I have very bad buying habits, i.e. not to buy :( So if you know one good book English or Marathi which you think I should read, then go ahead ;)
  • Cricket Bat. My last bat was broken last year :( Used it for 10 years.
  • A Memento which I can cherish forever
  • No shirt, pant, watch (Have 5 watch at home and haven’t bought a watch for past 10 years) or a showpiece.
  • Oh, and if you really love me, then you can always get an iPod Touch :)

My favorite Dialogue : Vegeta's Respect

I wanted to publish this since long time, but always postponed it, waiting for the right time. Well actually it is not a dialogue, since only one person is speaking.  This dialogue is from my favorite Cartoon serial DragonballZ and is spoken by my favorite character Vegeta . The scene is in the climax of the serial, in one of the final episodes. To give you an idea why I like it, let me give you some idea about DragonballZ . The characters Goku and Vegeta are one of the most important characters in the series. Goku, the protagonist, who is actually an alien from a planet called Vegeta and is one of the last of his race Saiyan . But unlike the Saiyans who are naturally aggressive, fight-loving, brutal, strongest warriors in the world, he is very calm, naive. He hates to be a Saiyan, when he realizes that he belongs to such a killing race. According to his blood line and roots on planet Vegeta, he is a third grade soldier in the Saiyan Army. On the contrary, Vegeta is the Prince o...

Natrang

I seriously don’t remember the last time I watched a Marathi movie in a theater, so according to my memory this was the first time I saw a Marathi Movie in a theater. And where?? The center point of recent controversy, Bharatmata, whose owners have been asked by NTC to vacate the place. Well, I will discuss that point in another post. Now, let us talk about the movie. I must admit it was a pleasure to watch Natrang in Bharatmata. The theater is located in central Mumbai near Lalbaug, which was dominated by Marathi mill workers in the yesteryears. Viraj had gone to PVR Lower Parel to buy the tickets. But since it would have cost us Rs. 150 each, I felt that it was too costly and asked Viraj to watch the movie in some other theater or on some other day. Since, Bharatmata was the nearest theater he decided to go there. I also left from home to join him. When I went there, there was a huge line for ticket. I didn’t tell Viraj but I had just 30 bucks in my wallet at that time, but what y...
