Kashi Nashibane thatta aaj Virajchi mandali

This song is dedicated to my dear friend Viraj. I wont describe why this song as "Samazdar ke liye ishara kafi hota hai"............

Dahaa dishnni, dahaa mukhanni. aaj fodila taho,
aasvant ya bhijali gatha, shrote ekaa ho !

mazya kalajachi taar aaj chhedali
kashi nashibane thatta aaj mandali !

gangevani nirmal hota, asa ek gaav
sukhi samadhani hota, rank aani raav
tyachi gungairavan kirti vadhali
kashi nashibane thatta aaj mandali !

asha gaavi hota ek bhola bhagyvant
punyavan mhanati tyala, kuni mhane sant
tyala eka menkechi drushti lagali
kashi nashibane thatta aaj mandali !

satvashil charitryachi ghalmel zali
gaavasathi nartakila, nadipar keli
naar sud bhavanena, ubhi petali
kashi nashibane thatta aaj mandali !

pisalalelya naginine thaythayat kela
nachganyasathi sara gaav yeda zala
tyanni laaj bhid niti saari sodali
kashi nashibane thatta aaj mandali !

jaab vicharaya gela, tine kela daav
bhovryat shrungarachya sapadali naav
tyachya patangachi dori tine todali
kashi nashibane thatta aaj mandali !

khulya jiva kalalaa nahi, khota ticha khel
tapobhang zala tyacha pura jai tol
tyala kutra manjarachi dasha aanali
kashi nashibane thatta aaj mandali !

janmabhari fasagat zali ticha ha tamasha
juluniya geli aataa jagayachi aasha
aaj hundakyan bhiravi mi gayali
kashi nashibane thatta aaj mandali !

yachi dehi yachi dola pahile maran
mich mazya hati deva rachile saran
mazya karma sohalyachi yatra chalali
kashi nashibane thatta aaj mandali !

adityavar ek post hota, virajvar hi kavita(mhanje poem), mala ata tu mazavar kay lihshil yachi chinta ani utsukata ahe.

last stanza is perfect to the situation. aditya had made different version of it.it was very well said. i will remember it that to believe others , first of all , they should believe u.

My Favorite Song

I always loved marathi songs. Be it the usual film songs, or the ever spiritual bhakitgeet. I am great fan of Vasant Bahar (the collection songs by Vasant Desai, Vasnt Prabhu and Vasant Deshpande). But all these songs were recorded in older times, before the 80s. In fact there were not many songs from the 90s which were really great. The emphasis was more on Comedy and the music paid for this. In fact there were songs which were "combo" songs containing the marathi versions of many popular hindi songs. Post Shwas era however has been much more encouraging. There were some amazing numbers like Radha hi Bawari, Man Udhan Varyache, Malhar vari and more. The song which I am going to mention here was an special addition  to the "Aga Bai Arechya.." audio CD. It was got the modern touch which I think is essential for Marathi songs if they really want to compete against the Hindi or Punjabi songs.  Sung by Swapnil Bandodkar, this one is at the top of my favorite songs list
