Life Reloaded!!!

Last Saturday, I happened to watch the Marathi play " Mr. & Mrs. " at Shivaji Mandir, Dadar . Actually, I had gone there to watch the play " Lagnabambal " which as per m-Indicator was scheduled at 4.30 PM. After reaching the theater at 3.30 PM, I found that there were no boards for this play. Instead, the play " Mr. & Mrs. " was scheduled at 3.30 PM. Soon after my friend joined me, we decided to watch " Mr. & Mrs. ". The story revolves around a couple with Chinamy Mandalekar playing Amit - "once famous but now without work" type of actor and Madhura Velankar playing his wife Meera, who works in bank. Due to Amit's failure to bag any new work and his frustrating attitude, the married life of the duo is in a disarray. At this stage, Amit meets his old friend and producer Ashwin, who had produced Amit's first successful TV serial. He makes him an offer of a reality show. Yesterday I saw the Marathi movie “ Guldasta ”. It is a decent movie made by Zee Talkies. Though the story, like most other Marathi Comedy movies, wasn’t that good, Makarand Anaspure’s performance was praiseworthy. His punch lines created the laughter for most part of the film. Others were average including Jitendra Joshi. In fact he was too laud and tried a little too much to emulate Nikhil Wagale. All in all, it is worth one time watch!

  The Marathi serial with above name is one of my most favorite TV serials. It showed the life of typical Marathi middle class family. I could see every character in the serial in the people around me. Aaba, Shekhar, Shyamala, Shrilesh aka Shirya and Shalaka were five main characters of the series. There was not a single episode which I could not relate to my own life. Friday night 9.30 slot was reserved for only one thing – “श्रीयुत गंगाधर टिपरे”. Apart from “405 आनंदवन” not many Marathi comedy serials came close Tipre. Some of the typical lines of the characters were - श्यामला – “अग बाई!" आबा – “अरे कर्मा” शेखर – (मोठ्याने) “काय??” श्रीलेश/शलाका – “आई झोपू दे ना" I remember the last episode of "Tipre” where Kedar Shinde (Director) explained why he wanted to end the serial. Last week I saw 2 Marathi movies. And both were really good movies. Harishchandrachi Factory and Zenda. Let me first talk about “Harishchandrachi Factory”. A simple movie about Father of Indian film industry, Dadasaheb Phalke. Instead of trying to create “Hero” out of Phalke, the director simply wanted to show the way made his first film in a simple, humorous way. He has not tried to create emotional situations when an ordinary director could have added the usual “rona-dhona”. I remember on the scenes where Phalke is leaving for London, and he is walking down the stairs. He goes down few steps and then comes back to his wife and tells her in ears “हे सगळे तुझ्यामुळे घडतंय”(All this is happening because of you). काही दिवसांपूर्वी सुस्मित आणि आदित्य दोघे सुस्मित्च्या बाईकवरून घरी जात होते. सुस्मितला हल्ली थोडे लांबच कमी दिसतं असं त्याच म्हणनं आहे. म्हणून जेव्हा त्यने सिग्नलला बाईक थांबवली, सुस्मित: अरे आदित्य, तुला समोरचा तो सिग्नल दिसतोय का? मला थोडा धुरकट दिसतोय. आदित्य: हो का? (सिग्नल कडे पाहून) हो रे मला पण धुरकट दिसतोय. सुस्मित (सुटकेचा सुस्कारा टाकत): बरे झाले. तुला पण सेम दिसत आहे. मला वाटलं कि मला चष्मा लागला कि काय!!! आदित्य: अरे पण मला चष्मा आहे!!!!
