Imp

I had been blogging regularly post CAT results, but since past 1 week MAT/CET/GD/PI preparation was on I couldn’t blog much. From tomorrow the most important period of life starts. In fact, next month itself is of paramount importance to me with 3 exams on back to back Sundays. Then IIM Bangalore interview on 25th Feb. And many more important things coming up this month. Lets just hope that I will live up to my own expectations :)

When will you be mine???

Quote of the day

I found this quote in HT article by Sitaram Yechuri. He used this quote to show the hurdles ahead of Barack Obama. Even though everyone is expecting "Change" from Obama, how much can he change the hegemony and unipolar nature of US is something which only time can tell.  "Men make their own history, but they do not make it as they please; they do not make it under self-selected circumstances, but under circumstances existing already, given and transmitted from the past. The tradition of all dead generations weighs like a nightmare on the brains of the living."    -Karl Marx

Friends

Last one month has been a small reunion of its kind for me. I met so many of my VJComps friends, Vishal Gaikwad and Sagar Bhogale - my old school friends also called me and we talked after so many years. It all started with JMET when many of VJComps had IIT, Mumbai as an exam center. Madhav had arrived 2 days earlier, and I thought it was the best time to meet him. On that day, I met Sidscope , Maddy , KK, Lovesh , Prashant , Rahul , TD and Meshram . We went to restaurant at Huma Adlabs and man it was costly!!! I had never paid Rs . 350 on Lunch for a single person in my whole life and mostly will not. To talk about Maddy , he hasn't changed much. His patent "big laughter" is still there!!! Then came Piu . She had time on a weekday and I had some work at CTS, so we decieded to meet. This time, she had also invited Nishant , Achin , Madhu , Maddy , Silly and Arun (whom I could not meet since I left early). Not much change in Piu either. Then came XAT on 4th

Indore

IIM Indore’s GD/PI dates have been declared, 16th March. Guess who else is in the same slot??? Shekhar Gurav , my batch mate in VJTI, who came 1st in SSC :)

SSC - 1

Its been a long time since I told you everyone about my school. Its time for more now. I would like to talk in detail about my each year in school. And I will start with my tenth. It was by far the best year in my life, till now. Even though my school started on 13th June, the whole process for SSC had already started in Feb. I had to look for coaching classes for 10th and I wasn't particularly happy with my previous class. The person who used to conduct those classes, Narasale Sir, would teach all the subjects, ranging from Marathi, English to Science, History. Jeetu suggested me to join Gharat Sir's class for Mathematics and Science. It was going to cost 8K. For me it was a very large sum for just 2 subjects, I had spent less than half of the amount for 3 subjects in 9th. But I had faith in Jeetu, so I went for it. As always I was late there. Sir told me that I would have to join a different division's batch, since 'A' division's batch was full. I said OK, l

MyToday Feed

It was a pleasant surprise when I got a message from my blog SMS feed of MyToday . The last time I got an SMS from my feed was when I first time subscribed to it, 8 months ago. In fact, today I also received an SMS for the SMS feed which I created for Nik's Blog comments. It seems our DM output has increased a lot :) In case, your are wondering what I am talking about, you would be happy to know that our company provides users to subscribe to RSS fees via SMSes . So whenever the blog/site is updated, you will (ideally, every time blog is updated) receive an SMS. This SMS will contain the title of the post and around 50-60 words of the post. The SMS will finally contain a URL on the mytoday site which contains a image-removed, mobile friendly version of your blog post. For example, here is the mobile friendly version of my previous post. You can do the same. Just login to mytoday . com Go to "Feeds" -> "Manage Feeds" -> "SMS". Here, you will

Hayden retires

So Mathew Hayden retired today.... One of my favorite batsman, he was a real treat to watch. I can never forget the way he used to walk down the track to fast bowlers and hit them over mid wicket. Even the powerful slog sweap was awesome to watch. I guess he should have decided it to hang his shoes a little early. Remember the send off given to Langer, Warne and McGrath when quit during the Ashes. I would have liked Haydo to have a similar fate by ending on a high like his peers, rather than like this. Anyways, all the best to Haydos for his future life...

The Cricket Team I hate the most

Nope, its not Pakistan which I hate. Its the Sri Lankan team which I hate the most. They spend most of their time playing the minnows or drawing test matched against the bigger team. Just look at the current series against Bangladesh. If I am not wrong, Bangladesh has played most of their tests against Sri Lanks only, both home and away. Bangladesh is yet to visit India for a test series!!!! Now lets look at the ODI seen. Today, Mendis completed his 50 wickets in ODIs in just 19 matches and he averages just 10!!!! Can you believe it? Yea, I can. He is a awesome bowler. But then has he played the Aussies or the Proteas? Sri Lanka just played 5 one days in Zimbabwe and now they are playing a tri series against Bangladesh and Zimbabwe. Even playing against the better test playing nations, these have such a bad attitude. Take the example of the famous match where Sri Lanka made 952 runs. What did they achieve? Highest score in test cricket. But did they win the match? Then whats the poin
