Dialogue

This is my group's patent dialogue, especially used against Jeetu. We say this when someone takes a non-veg meaning of a phrase. "दुर्योधनाच्या मनात नेहमी वाईट विचारच येतात."

Don't Acquaint With Fools

I can’t believe that someone actually saying that I am jealous of him. A person whom I tried helping when others were making a joke of him, today says that I am jealous of his so called success. Anyway, I never wanted to be friend with him, so doesn’t matter much in the long term. I knew he would be of no use, but never knew he would backfire on me like that. I will never forgive him for what he said. And mind it, I have a very good long term memory... Update : After a little introspection, few comments from my friends and an honest opinion from Susmit, have made me retract some of the lines I said in anger. As they said, silence is the best answers in this situation and there won't be any more discussion on this issue from my side.

Life @ NITIE: Day 9

Yesterday evening the TOPA group of NITIE (Theater of Performing Arts) put up a list of groups. Each was given a topic on which they had to perform a skit. Mine was the first group on the first day (as I told my friends, “do come for the first day, first show”). Our topic was “Apka Rakho Aage”. In fact, all the topics were spicy. Here is the list: Andheri Raat mein, Diya tere Hath Mein Hath Hata Waha Se Do Boond Zindagi ki Ek Rupye Mein do Ki Lo Phati Chhatri Hua Dhamaka Dheeru Bhai Ka sapana, Sab ke Hath Mein Apana Karo Lekin Dhyan Se Doodh Piyo Mast Jiyo Karo Jyada Ka irada Jahan Teri Yeh Nazar Hai, Waha sab ki Nazar hai Maal Asli Hai Ek Tupakati Bund aapki zindagi badal sakti hai Aadmi Hun Admi Se Pyar Karata Hoon Paro…. Main aa Raha Hoon Tu hut, Main Lagoon Ganda hai par dhanda hai yeh Din Mein Dangal, Raat Mein Mangal Ek ke Sath do do, ek hame bhi de do So when I saw the topics, I knew it was going to be an interesting display creativity from NT

Life @ NITIE: Day 8

Since our seniors' summer project presentations are going on, many of the professors are busy. So today also we had one lecture cancled. In fact, even the instructor for “Principal of Organization and Management” has said that he will busy tomorrow with the presentations. Hence one more off lecture tomorrow. It feels nice intially when you don’t have any lecture, but at the end of the course the teachers have to take 24 sessions(for 4 credit subjects), so there would be extra lectures at the end of the trimetser.

Life @ NITIE: Day 7

Damn it.. I had no lectures today. We had two lectures mentioned in the time table but one was reschudled to yestreday. The whole class was waiting for the Communication skills prof for ten minutes. But later on we found that he was on leave. Had I come to know this earlier I would have visited my home on tuesday. Anyway, looking forward to tomorrows lectures. Bye.

Life @ NITIE: Day 6

We had the same lectures as yestreday in the morning. In the afternoon we had Prof Pundit's lecture. He is going to teach us "Introduction to Industrial Engineering". He asked each of us to introduce ourselves and then gave us an assignment to select a comapny and give information about the comapny, its history, products, founders, etc. I am thinking of "Netcore" for this assignment. What say?

NITIE First Class

I am in the section C of IM-16 batch and we have only two lectuers on first three days of the week. This is compensated with 2 lectures on Saturday afternoon :). Our lectures start at 9.30 in the morning. I got up at around 8.40, quickly got ready by 9, went to the mess for break fast, came back to room at 9.15 and then to the classroom. The first lecture was that of Operations and Management by Rehaman sir. He interacted with the students well, gave us a brief idea of what Operations Management is. Looking forward to his lecture tomorrow. Next was Velikutty sir’s Business Statistics. Again a good lecture, he gave us some real life example where stats can make or break a company. Where to use mean, where to us median, when to use deviation and when not to use it. I liked the example where a Civil enginner wanted to cross a canal and asked his junior for the depth of the canal. The junior took the measurement and told him the average depth 4.5 feet. Since the Civil guy was 6 feet ta

Comment

Hey sorry guys, but the Wifi here in NITIE is pretty patheitc. Some sites are blocked (Orkut, Facebbok) and others dont function properly. The reason for this post is that I am not able leave comments on my blog. So I wont be able to reply to your comments in the comment section. I might write a post itself for special comments which need a reply. Here is the first one. @Nik: Thanks mate. I had done huge number of mistakes there. I hope I have corrected them now. My USP is my blog. Isnt it?

First Day @ NITIE - 2

So now the next part. After I got document verified, I had to go to the sports complex along with other IM-16(that is my bacth) students. There were professors and seniors waiting for us. We had a small session from Profs about NITIE. After they left, the seniors, “the Impact team” took over. They called random names from a list and asked those people to intorduce themselves to the crowd. They were also required to tell a USP and perform it in front of the rest of the batch. Some of the introductions were really pathetic, some were enthusiatic. I remember a Bengali guy, singing “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai” in bengali. The kind of expressions he gave, it was an excellent performance. There was a guy from Bhopal who has also done modeling, showed us how walk in ramp. Btw, in case the USP was too boring for the crowd, then such people were asked to perform a poll dance. In fact, one guy even did a strip tease ;) Finally during the dinner break we were asked to collect a case study from the xe

Can you imagine this?

Can you imagine, Siddhesh Ayre, sitting with 3 pretty girls in a single room at night 3 o'clock???? If no then you have pretty bad imagination power. P. S.: Obviously I was solving a finance case study with them :P

First Day @ NITIE - 1

So this was my first day at NITIE. I had decided to leave home by 8 in the morning but left at around 8.30. It was a something which I had never felt before. My brother Bunty started crying, well, he is a bit emotional. He hugged me and then sobbed on my sholder. I could see water in my Aai and Baba's eyes. I will never forget that moment. Then baba, bunty and I, left for NITIE. Santosh kaka and Aryan accompnied us till station. We took a borivali train and got down at Andheri. Then took a rickshaw. There was a huge trafic near Saki Naka and it took around 1 hour for us to reach NITIE from andheri station. Once we reached there, we went to the PGP Hostel block 1-2 office. We found that some of seniors had not vacated the rooms and we would have to wait for some more time. At that time I realized that I could have come 1-2 days earlier, booked a room and then came back today. Anyway, I was alloted the room at around 2 o'clock. Meanwhile, I tested the mess food, thought it was

Random Thoughts…

Hmmm... This is my first post written from my laptop. Memories of last Sunday are still fresh in my mind. And come on, how can any of us 4 forget? What hurts me more is that this was supposed to be my last picnic with my school friends for the year 2009. I know it is too early to say that. But looking at the way each of us getting busy nowadays, it is impossible for most of us have common date on which we can arrange the picnic. Lets take the case of each of us. I will be joining NITIE on 18th June and will be staying in hostel. Even though I will having holidays on Saturdays and Sundays, looking at the busy study schedule which we have, it seems difficult for me to meet these people. Same is true with Nik, he hardly met us last year as he was doing his first year in MBA. Jeetu has completed his BE and now is concentrating on his Rifle shooting and CDS interviews. Susmit will start preparing for the GRE and will need to spend more time at home studying with his irregular shifts. Then

Last day @ Netcore

So it is over. After 16 months in Netcore, it feels sad to leave my friends. But then as Purwa said, "You leave office, you don't leave friends!!!" To be honest the day started as a normal day. I was trying my best not feel any different about the last day. Of course, for everything I did that day was termed as "last something” in Netcore. So there was last "Lunch", "Tea Time", "Photo session", "CCD", etc. I was wearing the shirt given by friends in Netcore. I was really overwhelmed to know how much my friends love and respect me. Being last day in office I didn't have any work as such, but it is a little difficult for a person like me to just sit like that. I baked up all important data on Ashish and Anand's PC, got an Ubuntu DVD to be installed on my home Laptop. Meanwhile, I got calls from QA Bangalore team, Prashant, Vijay, Arun and Mahesh all for 4 different reasons related to QA. Then attended my last T

Don't Make Others Wait

One thing I always hated the most was waiting for others and making other wait. Waiting for others is not really in my hand, but I can certainly avoid making other people wait. There have been cases where I have made people wait for an hour or so, and it hurts me that I did such cheap thing to some one. Whenever I meet Shashank , it reminds me of the day when I had called him to meet me in the morning at 7.30 o'clock at Wilson Gymkhana. Actually I wasn't too much interested in meeting him initially, going to girgav for a junior was a tough job for me. So I had informed him that I was going to come to play cricket at Wilson Gymkhana with my friends and he can meet me there. Unfortunately, I never turned up there, since I was feeling too sleepy that morning, I decided not to go there. Poor guy waited till 8 and then called me up. I felt so shameful to make him wait like that, in the morning. Really, shame on me :( I did meet him afterwards and gave him some tips for 12th. It wa

Sarcasm

When I heard that only 4 of us who were going I was really angry with the whole situation. I called up Viraj and told him that there is no point in going now. He told me that even 4 us can go and enjoy. I was really frustrated at that point and so came the reply- “चार जण जाऊन काय मेंढी कोट खेळायचा आहे काय?” P. S. – Sorry Viraj for that remark :(

Hope we meet again…..

Madhav (Microsoft in Seattle), Siddhesh (XLRI, Jamshedpur) And yours truly Siddhesh Ayre(NITIE, Mumbai) at Matunga Station

Reasons

This is a collection of reasons which we got from my school mates for not coming to Picnic. Some are genuine and some are funny. In fact, it is up to the individual to decide what is genuine and what is not. Actually these are the reasons given to this picnic, I am sure Kiran, Viraj, Susmit and Nik have lot more such reasons, which they heard during previous trips. Check out my list: परीक्षा आहे Meeting in office अरे माझी हैदराबाद ला बदली झाली आहे.

Disappointed

Yep, I am not happy at all. We were supposed to be going for a trip today, and now we are at our home just wondering what went wrong. It really hurts the way things unfolded yesterday. Susmit, Nikhil and Viraj, we all were planning about this trip, and it turned out that only four of us were the only people who were the remaining people going for the trip. Hats off to Destiny for the reasons we got from various people. Damn, could we have done something better???

Offer Letter

Last week I collected my NITIE offer letter. Yes I did not have the offer letter till last week. Problem was the address given to NITIE was my Lower Parel address. I had informed my neighbors to collect my offer letter in case it came by post. When I got no reply till 13th April, I called up Asst. Registrar at NITIE, he told me that the letter was already sent. He asked me to send the DD without waiting for the offer letter. One of my batch mate in VJTI, Pranav, who is currently studying in NITIE, advised me the same. So I mailed the DD with my name and application id on the back of the DD. I didn't even receive the acknowledgement from NITIE till mid May. I had to again call them up to find out the same. I did receive the ACK as letter afterwards. But I was yet to receive the offer letter. I decided it was better to go there personally and collect the duplicate offer letter. In the 3rd week of May, I went there in the morning. It was really bad journey. I boarded the train at 8.

Nokia 5310

So finally I bought something "big" for myself from my salary. It has been 20 months since I started working but didn’t buy anything really cool to be honest. I bought Nokia 5310 yesterday, in the same shop in which Susmit bought Nokia 5800 on the same day just before me:) Most of the people I asked advised me to buy Nokia phone only, with the exception of Kiran and Shekhar. Kiran seems to be a die-hard Sony-Ericsson fan. Shekhar was impressed with Samsung Star, and he did almost convince me in buying the Star, I was confused till the time I went to get the money from ATM. But I remembered Sneha's opinion about Samsung(the time when 5 of usl met at VJTI last year). Honestly, Samsung is good, but Nokia is reliable. So how is Nokia 5310? I have hardly used it to comment much about it. Need to go through the manual to tell you more. Wait for 2-3 days more.
