9 Reasons to archive

This one is from GMail blog.

Top 9 reasons why one should use the archive facility in gmail(I use it):
9. Phone numbers and addresses
You never know when you'll need a phone number someone emailed you or an address that was in a signature.

8. Procrastination
Sometimes you want to get a message out of your inbox, but you don't want to deal with organization, and you don't want to trash it.

7. Posterity

Just because you’re not famous now doesn’t mean that in forty years (or fifteen minutes) you won’t want to write your memoir.

6. Winning arguments
“But on May 5, 2005 at 8:43pm EDT you said….”

5. Mailing lists
Do you really need to know what Clintobamccain is doing every day? Auto-archive* their messages until you want to donate again.

4. Birthdays

Search for “grandma birthday” and voila, find the message you sent her last April. Aren't you glad you archived instead of deleted?

3. That guy
Remember that guy you thought you’d never need to get in touch with ever again?

2. Because you can
May as well use the free storage space. Plus, clean inbox = clean mind.

1. Fate-tempting is bad. You just never know
Thirty-one days after you send that message to the Trash and it gets permanently deleted, you're going to need it. Don't tempt the fates.

lolzzz... The reasons provided for not archiving are so farfetched....

Protect the Environment: If u really hv to really sav electricity then stop using ACs, and other luxurious stuff. Or in the worst case stop using email, but thats not the reason for "not archiving"

# Protect yourself from Information Overload - Start using labels

# Security Considerations - If ur acount is hacked then u r already history. why blame archiving for leak of information even ur inbox can be enough info for the hacker. In fact this point contradicts with above point. since u r going to keep only imp mails in ur inbox its not only easier for u to search but also for the hacker.

# Do you trust Google? - If u really dont trust google thn stop using Gmail.

# Do you really want to? - Of course u dont hv to archive all the mails. U may delete whatever u want including spam.

# Some email is not meant to be saved - Same as above

# The experts recommend deleting - Different experts hv different opinion.

# Because not everything that Google says is right - thats the only point that is right

# What if you changed your mind? - this is the kind of reason u generate when u hv the topic "9 reasons" but u hv just 8

Marathi Manoos

I read the following article in Mint yesterday. http://www.livemint.com/Articles/2010/02/19213129/The-Thackerays8217-primitiv.html I was shocked by the bias shown by the author against the Marathis. I completely agreed with him when he talks about Sena. Both Shivsena and MNS have done more damage to Marathis than they have helped. Their methods have been of violence and oppression. May it be Shiv Sena’s reaction to racists attacks in Australia or the MNIK controversy, common man is the one who usually suffers. But the author then checks the list of 30 companies in BSE and 50 in NSE, to prove that there are no Marathi person “owning” a company and goes on to say - “ The Mumbai Marathi, better at renaming things than building something himself”. Then he says - If we observe Marathi society we notice the total absence of mercantile castes. Into this space the British imported the multi-religious trading community of Surat—Vohra, Khoja, Luhana, Memon, Jain, Parsi and Vaniya. The...
