Microsft XP SP 3

I was just going through the blog post on IE blog, where I came across a typical Microsoft faltugiri. It says that if you have XP Service Pack(SP) 2 and IE 7 installed and would like to upgrade to SP 3 then you wont be able uninstall IE 7.... Why? Its because if you uninstall IE 7 then you would revert back to older version of IE 6 of SP2 but your current service pack is SP 3. So you would be having a mismatch SP files. Hence in case you want to uninstall IE 7 then you would have to first uninstall SP 3 then uninstall IE 7 and finally install SP 3 again. What the heck is this???
My question to Microsoft is that if I like to install IE 7 then it mostly means I don't want to use IE. Why do you revert back to IE 6. If the user really loves IE 6 so much as to uninstall IE 6 then rather let him reinstall IE 6 himself. To be honest it seems one more of those Microsoft's Strategies to to prevent users from moving on to products other than that of Microsoft's.

Recently they launched Windows Live Mesh which is used to synchronize files between multiple computers( Anup is working on the same - Microsofts NEXT BIG THING is finally here !!!) Just have a look at this article.

And after reading this post if you fell that I am anti-Microsoft, then let me tell you one fact. I was one of the most pro-Microsoft guys in vjcomps. Belive it

Problem of Internet Explorer 7 and SP3

Internet Explorer 7 (IE7) has an uninstallation problem if Windows XP Service Pack 3 (XPSP3) is installed with IE7 running. If IE7 is running on XPSP2, Windows Update will offer XPSP3 as a high priority update. If XPSP3 is installed, Internet Explorer 7 will remain on the system after the install is complete. However, IE7 cannot then be uninstalled.

When IE7 is installed on Windows XP SP2, the existing IE6 files are backed up in an uninstall directory. Those IE6 files are the ones that shipped on XPSP2 plus all the security updates installed while using IE6.

Windows XP SP3 contains a newer version of the Internet Explorer 6 files. Uninstalling IE7 on XPSP3 has the system revert to the backed up (older) version of the IE6 files rather than the newer XPSP3 version. The operating system then ends up in a mixed file state in which most files would be the upgraded XPSP3, except for the IE6 files restored when uninstalling IE7.

This state is not supported and is very bug prone. Hence to prevent this state, uninstalling IE7 has been disabled.

It is recommended that users uninstall IE7 first, install XPSP3, then reinstall IE7. This allows IE7 to be uninstalled in the future without problems.[36]

Marathi Manoos

I read the following article in Mint yesterday. http://www.livemint.com/Articles/2010/02/19213129/The-Thackerays8217-primitiv.html I was shocked by the bias shown by the author against the Marathis. I completely agreed with him when he talks about Sena. Both Shivsena and MNS have done more damage to Marathis than they have helped. Their methods have been of violence and oppression. May it be Shiv Sena’s reaction to racists attacks in Australia or the MNIK controversy, common man is the one who usually suffers. But the author then checks the list of 30 companies in BSE and 50 in NSE, to prove that there are no Marathi person “owning” a company and goes on to say - “ The Mumbai Marathi, better at renaming things than building something himself”. Then he says - If we observe Marathi society we notice the total absence of mercantile castes. Into this space the British imported the multi-religious trading community of Surat—Vohra, Khoja, Luhana, Memon, Jain, Parsi and Vaniya. The...
