As I had said on Facebook, this trip does deserve a blog post. It has to be one of my longest trips. The last time I went so far away from Mumbai with more than 4 people was in 1997 when I went my mother’s native place Bandivade with my cousins.
The journey started on the night of May 7. I was travelling in a sleeper compartment for the first time. Like always even this journey was memorable. We had 4 confirmed tickets and 4 in the waiting list. Fortunately, we did not have not much trouble during the train journey, except for my back problem.
Once the train reached Kudal, another surprise was waiting for us. During the journey, the train made a halt for around 5 min at every station (of course, everyone will always remember that the train made a longer than usual “halt” at the Panvel station for supposedly signal related issue). But at Kudal, the train started within 2-3 minutes with Viraj and Tejashree still in train. They had to jump off the train once they had dumped all the luggage of the train.
At Kudal Station
After Kudal, we reached Vengurla in half an hours time. We stayed at Susmit’s house for next 3 days till 12th May. On 12th five of us headed for Goa and were back to Vengurla on 15th May. We roamed around in the Vengurla taluka for next few days. Of course, last day was more eventful than any other day – with 2 of us deciding to board the 4 o’clock ST bus for Mumbai at 2.45!
All in all amazing experience. I will write about some interesting events during the trip soon.
