Well, I can’t believe it. I really can’t. I never thought that I could fall for it. Damn. It happened yesterday after lunch. I was working in the office as usual when Deepali told me on IM that someone had called me, but since my office phone is not working properly, it was transferred to her. She said that the person had left her phone number: 09371272497. I was surprised. I haven’t given my office number to anyone. Then how come someone called me in my office?
Keeping my suspicions to myself, I went to Deepali’s desk and confirmed whether it was indeed “Siddhesh” whom the person was asking for. After she confirmed, I thought its better to give a call so I picked the phone and called on the above number. There was one women at the other end. Since I couldn’t recognize the voice, I didn't say anything initially. But that women suddenly started accusing me that I sent her some “lewd” SMSes and if her brother comes to know about it, then I am a “gonner”. I told her that there seems to be some confusion. She seemed to not take my words into account and going on and on. I quickly cut the call. For a moment, I felt like what the heck was that??? Who the hell is she? Ashish who was listening to my side conversation, realized that there was some problem. He asked if there was anything wrong. I explained him the whole situation. While telling him the things, one question that bugged me that how did she recognize me even though I called from different from phone and didnt actually say anything to begin the conversation. All said, I still was in a shock and wasn’t able to concentrate on my work. The last thing I wanted before my CAT was some thing like this. I told Deepali that if you get any such calls just say that there is no “Siddhesh” here.
I kept wondering what it was all about. When suddenly one thought came to my mind. Why not search for the number on Google. I know, the phone numbers cant be searched on Google, but I just went ahead with my gut feeling. What do you know? I found it. I could not believe it. But I guess, at least I found out the whole issue on my own was satisfying factor.
Now please don’t use that number and play the same prank on your friends :P
