World cup final

For the first time in my life I watched a complete world cup final. And boy it was fun... Superb match as it was, it had everything, sometimes Indians on top, at others the Pakitsatnis. At the end it was the Indians who hold their nerves to be the winner. Well a small description of the match along with my reactions follows. Here it goes...

The match begins with a surprise as Yusuf Pathan came to open the innings along with Gambhir(Hmmmm.... Has Dhoni gone made... I mean a rookie in final that to open the innings??) They started with an impulse but soon came down to earth as India lost Pathan, Robin, Yuvraj, Dhoni cheaply. It was the orthodox Gambhir who made 75 (HE got out on an unorthodox shot) Gul bowled really well. His yorkers except one were well directed and fetched him 3 wickets. Rohit Sharma provided the last flurish with 30 of 16 balls. Indians could get just 157 in their allotted 20 overs.

Now it was Pak's turn to get 158. It was a mixed start for them as they lost 2 wickets in 3 overs but scored over 30 runs. Imran Nazir was at his peak (Shreesath gadhava picth the ball up... swing tar houde ballala... ) It seemed that he would take away the match but Robin Utthapa had different plans. His excellent direct hit from mid-off got rid of Nazir. The match was in a oscillating situation. Indians got wickets at regular intervals. At the end it was match situation was 54 to get in 24 balls with 3 wickets to go(Come on boys its not over yet... go for the kill... Tya misbhahcha kahi bharosa nahi). Misbhah hit bhajji for 3 sixes in the next over and all Indians started to feel the heat. The next over started as bad as it could get with Sree hit for a six(Shit). If that was not enough Sohail hit him for 1 more six later that over(Damn it..... Shit......... Bowling yete ka.........). Fortunately Sree got his man on the last bowl. So 12 ball 20 to get. Not so difficult in 20-20. Then came a fine over by RP who conceded 7 runs with the wicket of Umar Gul(Ohhh .... Asiffff.......Lucky Lucky Lucky Lucky.... how can he get a four like that....shit shit shit.....). Last over.... 6 balls 13 to get.... Jogindar to Misbhah.... A very wide delivery....(Damn it... Come on boys you can do it....) ... next ball... a yorker outside the off stump.... but Misbhah doesnt connect it.... 5 balls 12..... next.... Misbhah comes down the pitch...A full toss... Straight over long off... For A SIX........(I lost it .................Shit.. Fuck...... What the heck........ Nooooooooooooo.... Damn it..).... Jogi under enormous pressure.... Next ball Misbah moves towards off side to play lofted shot over short third man... The ball is in air...(Oh my god.... its over ... Its all over... I am about to cry...) The ball comes down straight into Sree's hands. He completes the catch... INDIA WIN.......... WE WIN..... YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.......

My favorite Dialogue : Vegeta's Respect

I wanted to publish this since long time, but always postponed it, waiting for the right time. Well actually it is not a dialogue, since only one person is speaking.  This dialogue is from my favorite Cartoon serial DragonballZ and is spoken by my favorite character Vegeta . The scene is in the climax of the serial, in one of the final episodes. To give you an idea why I like it, let me give you some idea about DragonballZ . The characters Goku and Vegeta are one of the most important characters in the series. Goku, the protagonist, who is actually an alien from a planet called Vegeta and is one of the last of his race Saiyan . But unlike the Saiyans who are naturally aggressive, fight-loving, brutal, strongest warriors in the world, he is very calm, naive. He hates to be a Saiyan, when he realizes that he belongs to such a killing race. According to his blood line and roots on planet Vegeta, he is a third grade soldier in the Saiyan Army. On the contrary, Vegeta is the Prince o...

Sawai Ekankika’ 2013

So this year I completed a hat trick of watching the finals of Sawai . Like the previous 2 occasions, this too was a great experience. Most of the plays were good and the overall performance level was better than that of the 2012 finals. Most of the plays were based social issues like parenting, cynicism among the middle class, etc. Unlike the previous finals, not a single one was of romantic/love genre. Here is the list of finalists- Nat S. M. R. T. We missed this one as we were late. But Viraj's father told us, this was similar to the play " Natasamrat " but a modern version. Emotional Atyachar This was a story of an employee in an e-CRM firm which is hired by clients so that someone can communicate with their family. These clients are too "busy" with their work that they don't have time to speak with their wife/kids/parents. The agent/employee E26 slowly starts getting emotionally attached with his clients' families. Finally, when he is about t...
