A very happy holi to everyone. It seems to be ages since I “participated” or “played” holi. I guess the last time I was “colored” was in my 9th, that’s 9 years ago!!! The same is true for my brother. Honestly, it just happened that after my SSC, my interests in these festivals kept going down and down. I never really enjoyed these festivals like Holi or Diwali. I always felt that the people who I want to be with me at these times were not with me and hence I would claim that these days were more boring than usual.
There are many reasons for that. Post SSC I have hardly visited my relatives (whatever few relatives I have). Just imagine, I have not visited my cousin who stays one station away from my current home in last 4 years, and how can I then expect him to visit my home regular basis. Another reason was that I was too serious with my studies. I have always been. I wont say I am obsessed with studies, I would not stay awake till even 1 o’clock during my exams. But when it comes meeting people I kind of avoid it. I know I have to change this quality of mine, and I know I will :)
Next came shifting during my second year of engineering. In fact, during my 11th and 12th there was a talk of redeveloping our Chawl and build a tower there. So people were moving out and the relationship between the people in the chawl was reaching new lows. Holi, etc took a back seat in those days. When I finally shifted to Lower Parel in 2004, I hardly knew anyone here. Also, my college being from 9-5, I hardly had time to interact much with people in my colony. That means no holi in Sambhaji Nagar too!!!
Even last year in my office, I escaped from being colored by going out of the office via back door, when people (read- Priyesh and his team) were waiting for us at the front gate. I didn’t commit the same mistake this year though. I will post my photo after being colored :)
