Many people are wondering why I joined Citi Group over IBM. I must say it was not an easy decision to make. The problem was that my parents were completely unhappy with the way I had resigned and started studying at home. They wanted to start working as soon as possible. The feeling then intensified with the demand that I try to take up a job in Mumbai. I applied at many places but most of the companies had completed the placements for the year 2007 with the exception of Citi.
The job profile in Citi wasn't really attractive, but the name of the company was more important to me than anything else. It would really help when I apply for management institutes. So I thought it would be good to join Citi. And till now it has been a good experience. Most of my peers know that I am trying for MBA and have said they will help me to study CAT. If you ask me about IBM, I told them the reason and have returned their "Offer Letter".
I have night shift today, so lets see how it works out.
