Today I went to HDFC branch to change my address for correspondence, then went to Susmit’s home and registered for my brother’s friend, Amit. Thanks to Susmit both, my brother and his friend, could register via his Credit Card.

I have started reading “Kite Runner”, recommended by Jeetu. I hope its a good book. I then went to Aditya’s home at 5.30pm, but Aditya himself was not at home. He was having his classes at Velingkar. Actually, I never told him that we would meet at his home before going for dinner. Sunil came afterwards at 6 but then he had to leave early to some other place. Viraj was late and reached at 6.30pm. Aditya was last to come. Meanwhile we watched Mumbai Indians vs Deccan Chargers. It was frustrating to see MI losing wickets regularly in the later half of the innings. After watching them lose the match we decided to leave. Kiran and Susmit had already arrived at “Katta”. We joined joined them soon and we had great laugh for the half an hour we spent there, thinking about the fun we had during the Picnic. The “call” during the return journey was the talking point :D

After much contemplation we decided to go Food –In. We saw the Leopold Cafe & Bar on our way to Food In(“Ohh, Hech ka te!!!”, was my reaction). Food in “Food-In” was great, albeit non-veg. Maja aa gayee…… While returning, Viraj, Aditya and I walked all the way from Regal to Churni Road station. Return journey was much more interesting than start. Some discussion on past Picnics and new plans about new ones. Quote of the day came from Viraj at that time, on the issue of Girls coming to Picnic with us,

“जबाबदारी घेणे अणि जबाबदारीचे ओझे घेणे हयात फार मोठा फरक असतो”

Hope some of my dear friends understand this, and change their opinion, after all things do change over time……

Marathi Manoos

I read the following article in Mint yesterday. http://www.livemint.com/Articles/2010/02/19213129/The-Thackerays8217-primitiv.html I was shocked by the bias shown by the author against the Marathis. I completely agreed with him when he talks about Sena. Both Shivsena and MNS have done more damage to Marathis than they have helped. Their methods have been of violence and oppression. May it be Shiv Sena’s reaction to racists attacks in Australia or the MNIK controversy, common man is the one who usually suffers. But the author then checks the list of 30 companies in BSE and 50 in NSE, to prove that there are no Marathi person “owning” a company and goes on to say - “ The Mumbai Marathi, better at renaming things than building something himself”. Then he says - If we observe Marathi society we notice the total absence of mercantile castes. Into this space the British imported the multi-religious trading community of Surat—Vohra, Khoja, Luhana, Memon, Jain, Parsi and Vaniya. The...
